Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the Bible Memory Quest iPhone app and the Bible Memory Quest website. “Bible Memory Quest,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the developer of the app.
Information we collect
The current version creates an anonymous Firebase account automatically. We do not currently ask for your name, email address, phone number, or password. The following information may be transmitted from the app and stored with the anonymous account identifier.
Anonymous account identifier
A Firebase-generated user ID used to keep one player’s cloud data separate from another’s.
APPLE CATEGORY: IDENTIFIERS — USER ID · PURPOSE: APP FUNCTIONALITYGameplay and memorization progress
XP, level, streak, last-played date, path and stage progress, missions, achievements, armor progress, daily-challenge status, verse references and translations, practice counts, correct and incorrect attempts, mastery level, and practice timestamps.
APPLE CATEGORIES: GAMEPLAY CONTENT AND PRODUCT INTERACTION · PURPOSE: APP FUNCTIONALITYBible interactions
Saved verse references, selected highlight colors, and the dates those actions occurred. The complete Bible text is bundled in the app and is not uploaded to Firebase.
APPLE CATEGORIES: GAMEPLAY CONTENT AND PRODUCT INTERACTION · PURPOSE: APP FUNCTIONALITYVerse notes you write
The text of notes you choose to attach to Bible verses, together with the verse reference and created or updated dates. Because this is a free-form field, do not enter information you do not want stored in the cloud.
APPLE CATEGORY: USER CONTENT — OTHER USER CONTENT · PURPOSE: APP FUNCTIONALITYTechnical service information
Firebase may process IP addresses, app and SDK information, device and operating-system information, user-agent information, authentication events, and service-performance metadata to provide, secure, and maintain Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore.
PURPOSES: APP FUNCTIONALITY, SECURITY, AND SERVICE OPERATIONInformation kept on your device
Prayer journal titles, prayer text, categories, answered-prayer status, and related prayer details currently remain in local app storage and are not uploaded to Firebase. The bundled Bible text also stays inside the app. Some settings, inventory, cosmetic selections, and cached progress are stored locally even when related progress is also synced to the cloud.
Apple does not treat information processed only on the device as “collected” for its App Privacy label. Deleting the app generally removes its local data, subject to iOS backup and restoration behavior.
Firebase and service providers
We use Google Firebase, specifically Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Firebase acts as a service provider that helps create anonymous accounts, separate user records, synchronize progress, and store selected Bible interactions. Firebase may process information on Google infrastructure in the United States and other countries.
We do not currently integrate Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, advertising SDKs, or cross-app tracking. If those practices change, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before or when the changed version is released.
How we use information
- Operate verse memorization, battles, rewards, armor, achievements, and daily challenges.
- Save and synchronize progress and selected Bible interactions.
- Restore cloud data to the app and support future cross-device continuity.
- Maintain trusted server time for rotating in-game content.
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose synchronization problems.
- Respond to privacy, support, or legal requests.
Retention, access, and deletion
Cloud data is generally retained while the anonymous account remains active or as needed to provide the app, unless a longer period is required by law. Firebase may retain limited security and backup records according to its own service terms and deletion schedules.
To request access to or deletion of cloud data associated with your anonymous account, email privacy@biblememoryquest.com. Include your Firebase user ID from the app’s cloud-sync information when available. We may ask for additional information to confirm the request. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.
Deleting Bible Memory Quest from your iPhone removes local app data but does not automatically delete data already stored in Firebase. Use the request process above to ask us to delete cloud data.
Children’s privacy
Bible Memory Quest does not currently request a child’s name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifier. The app does create an anonymous account and may sync the app data described above. Parents or guardians who believe a child has entered personal information in a verse note may contact us to request deletion.
International processing
Firebase services may process and store information in the United States and other countries where Google or its service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection rules that differ from those where you live.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as the app changes. The updated version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes to collection or use will also be reflected in the app and its App Store privacy disclosures as appropriate.
